HI TECH PIMPIN REPORT 2/13

Car manufacturer Hyundai drops - a new phone?  Urban World Wireless has inked a deal with Nokia's "Comes With Music" program, launching later this summer. In the new deal, UDub! will supply music and entertainment news, as well as consulting services, product placement, and securing celebrity endorsements for Nokia products and service. UDub! will begin distribution of its music catalog this month in the UK, where Nokia's CWM program has already launched. THAT'S GANGSTA:  Conditions in Mexico are so bad that the country plans to pass a law in April which
will require mobile phone companies to build a subscriber database, complete with fingerprints. The move is a bid to fight kidnapping and extortion, crimes usually conducted using prepaid phones. Consumers will now be fingerprinted when they get a new phone contract. ARE U SERIOUS?: Car maker Hyundai has entered into the mobile arena and is set to start selling its MB-400 phone in the UK (up next - Maybach Mobile?) BIG APPLE: Apple reports it has now sold 6 billion tracks on iTunes and also reported that there are over 10 million tracks available on iTunes for consumption.  DID U KNOW?: Research firm In-Stat reports over 2 trillion text messages are sent worldwide on the daily. Text messaging remains the most profitable data service for mobile carriers, and we are willing to bet millions of messages will be sent tomorrow, expressing love on Valentine's Day.
