Superstar Jay brings mixtapes to the iPhone...Superstar Jay, New York's #1 "mixtape" DJ, will be among the first DJs to have his mixtapes streamed on "UrbanWorld," the new application to be featured on Apple's New Application storefront. In addition to news, music videos and mobile V.I.P. party invites, the app will stream new mixtapes weekly. "I'm glad for the opportunity;
from the streets to the iPhone, my mixtapes speak for themselves," said Superstar Jay. SPRINT NEEDS HELP (BAD): Sprint Nextel continues to lose subscribers; during the 4th quarter of 2008, Sprint lost 1.3 million total customers and posted a $1.6 billion loss. FREE WILL COST YOU: Google will now require companies who place ads for "free ringtones" to disclose costs associated with them. Huh? Well, consumers complained they would click on the ads and give companies their cell phone numbers without realizing they were really signing up for a subscription. Now if you search for free ringtones, these ads will include phrases like "ad-supported or $9.99/month." METRO PCS & DJ FELLI FEL: DJ Felli Fel was recently called upon by wireless carrier Metro PCS to create and host a mixtape to promote the retail chain, called
